It was the Badgers versus the Bears to kick off the Epic Tourneys Invitational. No, it wasn’t the Bradshaw Mountain Bears the Prescott softball team took on Thursday. Instead, they faced the Coolidge Bears. The Lady Badgers got off to a strong start at the invite, scoring 15 runs in the first three innings. They tacked on a couple of more runs to flatten Coolidge 17-4.
Belle Mazon drove in five runs for Prescott. Kaylin Pinarelli had two RBIs and scored four runs. Rose Martinez had two RBIs. Amilya Zahn, Lauren McCormick, and “The Huntress” Lucy Zembick each had an RBI. Madison Ballou was the winning pitcher with four strikeouts.
The win puts the Lady Badgers’ overall record at 5-2. They continue play in the Epic Tourneys Invitational today. On Tuesday, Prescott has a Grand Canyon Region clash with Coconino at Prescott High School.
