Speeding through the Tri-City area won’t get you to your destination any faster. That’s the word from the Prescott Valley Police Department. According to a release from the department, while many motorists believe driving faster will get them to their destination sooner, common road conditions like traffic lights, congestion, and heavy traffic patterns limit any actual advantage.
PVPD officials point to a familiar scenario — a speeding driver rushes past, only to be stopped at the next red light alongside other vehicles.
Beyond minimal time savings, police officials warn that speeding increases the risk of crashes, raises fuel consumption, and can lead to higher insurance costs.
