As the weather continues to warm, many residents in the Prescott area are working on their yards. City officials remind everyone the Prescott Solid Waste Division offers free wood chips to residents.
These wood chips are created from natural wood and organic debris and turned into a mulch-like product. None of the wood is treated and is suitable for use in gardens, yards, and landscaping projects.
Pickup for the wood chips is available weekdays from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. City of Prescott officials ask residents to allow 30 minutes for staff to load the material and to always secure the load.
