Vegas Woman Arrested on I-40 for DUI with Kids in Car

A Las Vegas woman is facing multiple felony charges after a traffic stop on I-40 with three children in her car. The Yavapai County Sheriff’s Office says a Special Crimes Unit deputy pulled her over on April 3rd near Ash Fork after seeing the vehicle swerving and committing traffic violations.

Investigators say the driver told deputies she was swerving while trying to hide an open beer can under a child’s seat. A K-9 search later turned up methamphetamine hidden in a cigarette pack. Authorities say the 32-year-old driver tested positive for meth and was also wanted on a nationwide extradition warrant from Florida. She now faces charges of DUI, child endangerment, and child abuse.

The children were released to custody of their grandmother. Their ages are four, eleven, and 12.
