CVHS Softball Topped by Kingman

The early part of the game went well for the Chino Valley softball team. They posted two runs in the first inning of Monday’s contest at Kingman High School. The Lady Bulldogs did cut that lead in half in the bottom of the second inning. By the fourth inning, the Lady Cougars pulled ahead to make it a 6-1 game. Kingman kept chipping away at the lead, but in the bottom of the seventh, Chino had a 7-4 advantage. Kingman, however, rallied and walked it off with an 8-7 triumph over the Lady Cougars.

Brielle Bell drove in two runs for Chino Valley. They also took advantage of eight Kingman errors to get their other runs. McKenzie Casner scored three times, and Samantha Amaya crossed the plate twice. Maleah Garcia fanned nine.

Chino Valley is home today versus River Valley.
