The Embry-Riddle softball team took a brief respite from conference play as they hosted Nelson University in a doubleheader Tuesday. Both teams were tied 3–3 going into the fifth inning. That’s when the Lady Warriors’ offense erupted, resulting in a 12–8 loss for the Lady Eagles. Anise Romo homered and drove in three runs for Riddle. Leah Salas had two RBIs.
The Lady Eagles turned the tables in game two, using an eight-run second inning to power their way to a 12–4 victory over Nelson. Ryan Da Costa went 4-for-4 with three RBIs. Jade Bayless had a two-run jack. Salas drove in two runs. Emily Jones was the winning pitcher.
Embry-Riddle is now 25–15 on the season. They go back to GSAC competition Friday and Saturday when they head to Park University. The Lady Eagles wrap up the regular season April 23rd and 24th at home versus Arizona Christian.
