It was a chance for one team to move up in the state power point rankings for the 4A Conference. The number eight-ranked Prescott softball team headed north Tuesday to battle number seven-ranked Flagstaff.
The Lady Badgers got the ball rolling with a run in the top of the first, but the Lady Eagles posted four runs in the bottom of the frame. Prescott pulled to within one in the second inning, only to have Flag get another run in the third inning. The Lady Badgers scored again in the fifth inning to again make it a one-run game. The pitchers ruled the rest of the game as Prescott came up short 5–4.
Kaylin Pinarelli went 3-for-4 with an RBI for the Lady Badgers. Lilly James and Olivia Butler each had an RBI.
Prescott is 13–7 on the season. They host Flagstaff tomorrow.
