PHS Baseball Literally Walks it Off Against Flagstaff

After getting shutout by Flagstaff Tuesday, the Prescott baseball team got back its mojo at the plate Thursday and got out to a 7-4 lead in the fourth inning. The Eagles, however, tore it up in the top of fifth, cranking out six runs to take a 10-7 lead. Flag added another run in the top of the sixth before the Badgers tallied four runs in the bottom of the frame to tie the score 11-11.

The Eagles regained the lead in the top of the seventh, then in the bottom of the seventh, it was like Aerosmith’s “Walk This Way” played throughout the field. Flagstaff walked the bases loaded, then walked in the tying run, then walked in the winning run as Prescott came away 13-12 victors.

Travis Gates went 3-for-3 with three RBIs. Jason Placentia, Nick Martin, and Kaden Lampe each had two RBIs.

The Badgers are 15-8 on the season and winners of four of their last five games.
