YC Softball Derails Scottsdale and Mesa

It was a triumphant time on the road for the Yavapai College softball team. On Friday, the Lady Riders were at Scottsdale College and took both ends of their double-header with the Artichokes, final scores 6-3 and 5-3.

Ryder Wilmarth got it done at the plate and in the circle in game one, driving in two runs and striking out four in a winning effort. Avree Rhodes scored two runs. Georgia Wagner-Stiles collected two RBIs in the second game, while Olivia Durazo picked up the win.

Then on Saturday, it was rinse and repeat for YC as they swept Mesa College 5-4 and 8-5. Rhodes and Kayley Gibb both had two RBIs in game one. Daisy Smith was the winning pitcher. Durazo was the winning pitcher in game two. Danica Kern had an RBI and three runs scored.

Yavapai is 18-27 on the season. They are at Central Arizona tomorrow.
