ERAU Produces 3 Champions at GSAC T&F Meet

They had quite a few top five finishes, along with some champions. That’s how things went for the Embry-Riddle track team at the GSAC Championship meet over the weekend. One of the most impressive performances on the weekend went to Mia Kemp. The Australian won the women’s 3,000 meter steeplechase and was also second in the 5,000 meter run. Sophia Noreiga also shined at Aliso Viejo, California. She won the 5,000 meter run and was second in the 1,500 meter run.

Other top finishes for the Lady Eagles . . . Chino Valley grad Carlee Murphy was third in both the 5,000 meter run and the 10,000 meter run. Tiffany Terry came in fourth in the 10,000 meter run. Fionnula Carew was fifth in the 3,000 meter steeplechase.

For the Embry-Riddle men, Ben Smith won the 3,000 meter steeplechase and was third in the 5,000 meter run. The 4×800 relay team finished third, Jacob Ortiz was fourth in the 5,000 meter run and fifth in the 10,000 meter run.
