Prescott officials and the U.S. Forest Service are urging residents to prepare as wildfire season officially begins. In Prescott Regional Airport, local residents can expect increased aircraft activity, including helicopters and large air tankers responding to fires. Since January, crews have responded to several human-caused fires and other incidents.
City officials say no fire restrictions are currently in place, but strong winds could quickly increase fire danger. Residents are urged to stay alert, follow fire safety guidelines, and create defensible space around their homes.
