She has led the Prescott girls basketball team to some of their most successful seasons in program history. On Thursday, Jami Johnson announced she is stepping down as head coach. She has served as the Lady Badgers’ bench boss for the past five seasons.
In a post on Facebook, Johnson wrote, “The past five years have been a time of my life that I will cherish. I am grateful for the people that have come into my life and all of the success that we have achieved. To my girls… together we did something special for this program, school, community, and women’s basketball.”
Two seasons ago, Johnson led Prescott to the Elite Eight of state. This past season, under Johnson’s leadership, the Lady Badgers went 25–4, won the Grand Canyon Region championship, and made it to the Final Four of state.
