The drought has gotten worse in Yavapai County. According to the U.S. Drought Monitor, the eastern part of the county is in moderate drought, while the western half is in severe drought. As for the rest of Arizona, more than three-quarters of the state is in either moderate drought or severe drought.
The current drought conditions have resulted in very high fire danger in the Prescott National Forest. Everyone is urged to be careful with anything that can produce a flame or a spark in order to prevent a wildfire from breaking out.
