Prescott, CAFMA to Implement Stage I Fire Restrictions

The Prescott Fire Department and the Central Arizona Fire and Medical Authority will implement Stage One fire restrictions on Thursday as dry conditions continue across Yavapai County. The restrictions cover the City of Prescott and CAFMA’s service area, which includes Prescott Valley, Chino Valley, Dewey-Humboldt, Paulden, Williamson Valley, Government Canyon, and Diamond Valley.

Fire officials say the measures are part of a coordinated regional effort to reduce wildfire risk ahead of peak fire season. The Prescott National Forest, the Arizona Department of Forestry and Fire Management, and Yavapai County are also expected to implement similar Stage One restrictions soon.

The restrictions will remain in effect until weather conditions improve.
