Thursday is the day most jurisdictions around Yavapai County will enact Stage One fire restrictions. Along with the City of Prescott, Central Arizona Fire and Medical Authority, and Prescott National Forest, the cities of Cottonwood and Sedona will also implement fire restrictions.
This means fires are prohibited outside of a fire structure. Smoking is only allowed within vehicles or enclosed spaces. Discharging a firearm is also prohibited unless it is during a lawful hunt.
The current fire danger in the Prescott National Forest is very high.
