Drought conditions are worsening in Yavapai County. According to the U.S. Drought Monitor, three-quarters of the county is in severe drought, while the northeastern corner of Yavapai is in moderate drought. As for the rest of Arizona, more than three-quarters of the state is in either moderate drought or severe drought. Parts of Apache County are in extreme drought.
The current drought conditions have resulted in very high fire danger in the Prescott National Forest. Everyone is urged to be careful with anything that can produce a flame or a spark in order to prevent a wildfire from breaking out. And this reminder, Stage One fire restrictions are in effect throughout most of Yavapai County.
