Monday is Memorial Day, and Yavapai County is taking a moment to honor those who have made the ultimate sacrifice for our country. Residents are invited to a Day of Remembrance at the Citizen’s Cemetery in Prescott from 9 a.m. to 10 a.m. The event will include speeches, readings, veterans organizations, wreath laying, flag raising, public figures, living history groups, and bagpipers.
Yavapai County officials say seating at the cemetery is limited and ask folks to bring a light lawn chair or camping chair. Parking will be available at Yavapai College, and a complimentary shuttle will run from the college to the cemetery. County officials say the Day of Remembrance serves as an opportunity for community members to gather and ensure those brave men and women’s memories live on.
