1955: A huge day at the plate. Boston’s Norm Zauchin drove in ten runs in one game. That helped the Red Sox clobber Washington 16-0.
1968: A legend called it quits. George Halas of the Chicago Bears announced his retirement. In more than 40 years of coaching, Halas amassed 318 wins and six NFL titles.
1975: They made it two in a row. Philadelphia blanked Buffalo 2-0 in Game Six of the Stanley Cup Finals. That made it two Cup championships in a row for the Flyers.
