The Cottonwood Police Department is asking for the public’s help to find the suspect who reportedly kidnapped and sexually assaulted a young girl.
Police officials say the incident occurred May 20 at the parking lot of a business near West Highway 89A and 12th Street. Investigators say an unknown male suspect approached the victim at gunpoint, forced her into a vehicle, and made her drive him around Cottonwood. The victim was then sexually assaulted before the suspect eventually fled on foot. The victim and her family later contacted 911.
The suspect is described as a white male about 50 years old with a thin build. He was reportedly wearing a camouflage jacket or hoodie, gray jean-like shorts, and a face mask.
