The Central Arizona Fire and Medical Authority and the Prescott Fire Department are launching a Community Wildfire Protection Plan aimed at reducing wildfire risk and improving safety across the region.
Officials say the area’s wildfire hazard potential ranks higher than 97 percent of communities nationwide, placing residents, critical infrastructure, and first responders at increased risk from future fires.
The plan will help identify local wildfire threats, prioritize mitigation projects, and develop strategies to better prepare for and respond to emergencies. CAFMA and Prescott Fire Department officials are encouraging residents to share their input through a community questionnaire. Feedback from the public will help shape the plan and ensure it reflects local needs and concerns. The link to the survey is available on the Central Arizona Fire and Medical Authority Facebook page.
