1989: A brand new stadium opened for business. The Blue Jays played their first game at Toronto’s SkyDome. It was the first stadium in the world to feature a retractable roof.

Time to wish a happy birthday today to . . . Former St. Louis Cardinals outfielder Ray Lankford, who’s 59. Ex-St. Louis Rams receiver Torry Holt is 50, and Seattle Seahawks quarterback Sam Darnold is 29.
