Cheese Bread Recall

Consumers are being advised to check their freezers after a nationwide recall of certain Motor City Pizza Company 5 Cheese Bread products.

According to Yavapai County Community Health Services, Champion Foods of Michigan is voluntarily recalling select batches of the product due to a potential risk of salmonella contamination. The recall stems from a separate milk powder recall involving a supplier that provided an ingredient used in a seasoning blend for the cheese sauce.

Salmonella can cause serious illness, particularly in young children, older adults, and people with weakened immune systems. Symptoms may include fever, diarrhea, nausea, vomiting, and abdominal pain.

Company officials say no illnesses have been reported, and routine testing of the seasoning blend found no salmonella. However, the recall is being conducted as a precaution.

The product was sold nationwide through major retailers, including Costco, Walmart, Target, and Kroger. Anyone with Motor City Pizza Company 5 Cheese Bread should throw it out or return it to the store they purchased it from.
