Prescott Valley Prepares to Set up Healing Fields

Every September since 2012, a group of dedicated volunteers has created a healing field of flags at the Prescott Valley Civic Center. It began as a way to visualize the enormity of human loss that occurred in the terrorist attacks of September 11, 2001.

The Prescott Valley Healing Field has 2,977 American flags for those that died on 9/11, plus 19 Granite Mountain Hotshot Flags representing the firefighters who perished on June 30, 2013.

Set up operations begin this Friday at 7 a.m., followed by the blessing of the field at 9:30 a.m. The 9/11 Ceremony takes place on Wednesday, September 11 at 6 p.m. It will be live-streamed the Town of Prescott Valley’s YouTube Channel.
