The Yavapai College men’s soccer team wasted little time getting their offense going. The Roughriders notched three goals in the first 24 minutes of Saturday’s match versus Southern Nevada. That proved too much for the Coyotes to overcome as Y-C got the 4-1 victory. Anthony Khananisho recorded two goals and an assist. Raphael Di Cecco and Francisco Duran-Andrade also scored for the Roughriders. David Murillo and Ian Lama each picked up an assist.
It was also a successful day on the pitch for the Yavapai College women’s soccer team. They shut out Southern Nevada 2-0. Prescott alum Megan Townsend scored for the Lady Riders, with the assist going to Sophia Fottrell. The other score came from an own goal by the Lady Coyotes. Keeper Talon Bennett made four saves.
