Prescott National Forest officials have scheduled another prescribed burn. This one will take place in the area of Goldwater Lake and the Bean Peaks Trail. Burning operations are expected to begin this Friday and continue through next Thursday. Several trails along the Bean Peaks system will be closed during the burn.
Smoke impacts in the Tri-City area are expected to be light, but smoke could linger in drainages and valleys during nighttime hours. The purpose of the burn is to eliminate excess vegetation to reduce the risk of a catastrophic wildfire.
Those driving in the area of Goldwater Lake and Bean Peaks are urged to obey all traffic signs and exercise caution, as firefighters and fire vehicles will be operating in the area.
