Units from both the Central Arizona Fire and Medical Authority and the Prescott Fire Department were called to the U-Pick-It salvage yard in Prescott Valley on Friday when a fire broke out. Firefighters arrived to find flames and heavy smoke billowing from large scrap piles and conveyor belts. Fire personnel conducted an extensive overhaul process to locate and extinguish any hidden hot spots.
No injuries were reported, and the cause of the fire is under investigation. This is the third fire at the U-Pick-It yard in the past two years.
