Things were going well for the Yavapai College men’s basketball team in the first half of last night’s contest with Central Arizona. The Roughriders led 30-28 going into halftime, with Nadir Myers notching 20 points. The game remained close throughout the second half, but the Vaqueros pulled away toward the end, handing Y-C a 76-66 loss. Neither Yavapai College nor the NJCAA posted final individual stats prior to airtime. The Roughriders fall to 2-8 on the season.
The women’s game was also a close affair, with Yavapai trailing 35-34 at halftime. The Lady Riders stayed close with Central Arizona during the second half but came up short 72-67. Neither Yavapai College nor the NJCAA posted final individual stats prior to airtime. The Lady Riders are 2-5 on the season.
Both the Yavapai men’s and women’s teams return to the court Saturday. They head down to Yuma to take on Arizona Western.
