It was a situation the Prescott boys basketball team was not used to being in… playing from behind. The Badgers trailed Brophy Prep by nine points in the first half of the first round of the Open Division state tournament Wednesday. But the Badgers clawed their way back into the contest and ultimately tied it 60-60 to send the game into overtime. The score was tied 68-68 with three seconds left when Luke Wieskamp got a layup for the Broncos, handing Prescott the 70-68 defeat.
Badger coach Travis Stedman tells The News:
Uriah Tenette posted 48 points for the Badgers. Zane Gaul tallied nine points. Prescott will now compete in the 4A Conference state tournament, which starts next week.
