A lot of restaurants in Yavapai County are following safe food practices, and county community health services have recognized that. The department came out with its Golden Plate Awards for 2024. There were 253 food establishments that went above and beyond making sure their food is prepared and stored safely.
In order to receive the Golden Plate Award, an establishment must go the entire calendar year of 2024 without being cited for a food handling violation, have an approved and implemented food safety plan, and have a person with an accepted and current manager-level food safety certificate throughout the year.
A full list of Golden Plate Award winners is available at yavapaiaz.gov/goldenplateawards. Those establishments will also be recognized at the county board of supervisors meetings in Prescott on March 5th and in Cottonwood on March 19th.
