With Prescott’s primary election a couple of months away, city officials are reminding citizens and candidates about regulations for political signs and campaign materials.
Residents may place signs on private property, and state law allows signs in the city right-of-way — except in designated sign-free zones approved by City Council. These zones, created to preserve scenic areas, allow city staff to remove signs without notice.
City Community Outreach Manager John Heiney tells The News:
Additionally, campaign materials, such as buttons, are not permitted inside City Hall. Heiney says most people have complied with these rules.
