A Yavapai County jury Thursday found a 48-year-old Sedona woman guilty of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon against a peace officer. Erica Ann Montgomery did not appear for the final day of her trial and a warrant is out for her arrest.
The charges stem from a traffic stop in November 2023. After Montgomery was pulled over for a suspended license plate, she punched a Sedona police officer several times before striking him in the head with a metal object. The officer suffered a concussion. A crowbar was found next to Montgomery’s vehicle.
