Two riders are behind bars after separate high-speed motorcycle chases in Yavapai County on Wednesday.
The first incident happened around 2 p.m., when deputies tried to stop a motorcycle on Willow Creek Road. The rider took off at excessive speed toward the Prescott Airport. Deputies later found the bike and its rider, identified as Peyton Proper, in a nearby business parking lot, trying to load the motorcycle into a truck. Proper was arrested for felony flight and reckless driving.
Then around 8 p.m., another rider fled from deputies on Highway 69 between Prescott and Prescott Valley, weaving through traffic at high speeds. Deputies later tracked down that suspect, identified as Robert Plamondon, at a residence. He now faces similar charges, including felony flight and endangerment.
Both motorcycles were impounded.
The Sheriff’s Office says the investigations are ongoing and more charges could follow.
