The Difference Between a Flood Watch and a Flood Warning

As the monsoon continues and the Prescott area receives more rainfall, it is important to understand the difference between a flood watch and a flood warning — and how to prepare for each.

National Weather Service meteorologist Jacob Lewandowski says a flood watch is usually issued ahead of time. He explains they are issued when conditions are favorable for the possibility of flooding.
