Two Former YC Coaches Get New Jobs, While New Softball Coach Hired

It did not take long for a couple of former Yavapai College coaches to find new jobs. Kali Pugh, who had led the Lady Rider softball team for three years, is the new head coach at New Mexico Highlands University. In her three seasons at YC, she posted a record of 41-89.

One of Pugh’s former players at Yavapai is following her to New Mexico Highlands Breanne Petty – a Chino Valley product – will suit up for the Cowgirls this coming season. In her one season with the Lady Riders, she went 6-10 with a 4.94 ERA and 13 strikeouts in 107 innings.

Meanwhile, Dann Geisey has been named the new head coach for Yavapai softball. He is the former coach of the College of Lake County and led them to back-to-back 30-win seasons.

Also, former Yavapai College baseball coach Pat Woods is now an assistant coach at Southeastern Oklahoma State University. In three years at YC, Woods went 79-79 and had 38 players receive scholarships to four-year schools.
