The Yavapai County Sheriff’s Office released the results of a traffic enforcement detail that took place earlier this month. YCSO joined forces with the Prescott Valley Police Department, Prescott Police Department, and Arizona DPS on July 16th to patrol Highway 89A, Fain Road, and surrounding streets in Prescott Valley.
The effort resulted in 69 traffic stops. Officers issued 44 speeding tickets and seven other civil citations. Five drivers were arrested on criminal charges — including criminal speeding, reckless driving, and a felony aggressive driving case.
The enforcement detail was funded through a grant from the Arizona Governor’s Office of Highway Safety. The detail was part of an ongoing effort to target areas with high-risk driving behavior.
