Close the book on the Kirkland Fire. The blaze is now 100 percent contained. The wildfire erupted back on August 1st and burned 913 acres.
The cause of the fire was a man driving on the metal rim of a blown-out tire, which created sparks and ignited several roadside fires. He was subsequently arrested by the Yavapai County Sheriff’s Office for reckless burning and DUI.
No structures were damaged or destroyed in this fire.
