A rare Monday match for the Yavapai College volleyball team. The Lady Riders were in Gilbert to face Justice University, and had little problem with the Lady Lions. YC took the first set 25-16, then were victorious in the next two sets 25-15 and 25-17 for the 3-0 match sweep.
McKenzie Wright recorded 21 assists and Maria Clara Cruz posted eleven assists. The kills were evenly spread out with Eris Pimentel getting six, Aliceya Ciftcioglu and Heidi Mayerhoffer notching five, and Skylar Schwartz, Micah Gardner, and Destiny Matthews putting up four. Jezebel Rivas made seven digs.
Yavapai is now an even 10-10 on the season. The Lady Riders are home twice this week. They play Community Christian Friday and South Mountain Saturday. In fact, Yavapai’s final seven matches of the season are all in their home gym.
