Prescott Area Congressman Crane to Help with Grand Canyon Fire Recovery

Prescott area congressman Eli Crane is attempting to cut through the red tape and speed up recovery efforts on the North Rim of the Grand Canyon. That area was devastated by the 145,000 acre Dragon Bravo Fire that burned for nearly two months. Crane has introduced the North Rim Restoration Act of 2025 to speed up rebuilding efforts at the Grand Canyon’s North Rim.

The bill comes after the Dragon Bravo Fire destroyed much of the area’s infrastructure — including the historic Grand Canyon Lodge. Parts of the North Rim remain closed, impacting park staff and surrounding communities.

The legislation would grant the National Park Service emergency contracting authority to bypass red tape and expedite recovery. It also covers forest management, maintenance, and infrastructure rebuilding.
