Three people were hospitalized following a stove fire at Evergreen Villages Friday. According to the Prescott Fire Department, units were dispatched to the location just before 11 p.m. Smoke from the fire filled the apartment unit and the hallway.
Firefighters quickly contained the blaze before it spread, then ventilated the building. Three residents were transported for smoke inhalation. Prescott fire officials remind the public to never leave cooking unattended, and if your smoke alarm goes off, evacuate immediately.
You should also test your smoke alarms monthly and replace batteries regularly.
