Smart 911 Test Scheduled for Wednesday

The Prescott Regional Communications Center, in coordination with Smart 9-1-1, will test the Prescott Regional Emergency Notification System Wednesday between 8 a.m. and noon. Communications officials report the test intends to ensure the system’s readiness and verify residents can receive alerts in a timely manner.

They add the message will state the alert is only a test, and will be sent to those registered through Smart 9-1-1. The method of delivery will vary depending on user preferences and include text, email, voice call, or the Smart 9-1-1 app.

Communications officials say no action is required from residents, but those who do not receive the test alert are encouraged to confirm their contact information, or register for alerts at Smart9-1-1 dot com.
