More Piling Burning in PNF

The Prescott National Forest will conduct a prescribed pile burn operation throughout the winter months. The operation takes place in the Bradshaw Ranger District of the Prescott National Forest on Big Bug Mesa. Forest officials say recent rainfall has provided favorable conditions, allowing the project to commence.

The burn piles are the result of recent fuels reduction operations in the area. Forest Service officials say smoke should be light and visible from Prescott, Prescott Valley, Chino Valley, Dewey-Humboldt, and surrounding areas. They add burns will continue pending the availability of personnel, equipment, and favorable weather.

All residents are reminded to obey signage in the interest of safety.
