Local Soccer Teams Gear up for Post-Season Play

Three local soccer teams take their shots this week to make it to the state tournament proper. The 4-A Conference state play-in round for girls is set for Thursday, and Prescott will be at home for it. They will take on fellow Grand Canyon Region opponent Mohave. After losing three of their first four games in January, the Lady Badgers went 3-0-1 in their final four games of the regular season to snag the number 11 seed. Mohave is the number 22 seed and has lost their last four in a row.

The boys state play-in round is Friday. Number 13 Prescott hosts number 20 ALA Queen Creek. The Badgers went undefeated in Grand Canyon Region play, while the Patriots went 7-3-2 in their power point games. Number 17 Bradshaw Mountain will head down to Tucson to face number 16 Amphitheater. The Bears are 7-5, while the Panthers are also 7-5 in their power point games.
