PHS Boys Basketball Overpowers Mingus in Regular Season Finale

The first time they faced Mingus, the Prescott boys basketball team battled them to the bitter end but came up short by three points. Monday night was rematch night in Cottonwood. Once again, it was a close game between the Badgers and the Marauders. This time, however, the outcome would be different as Prescott got the win, final score 51–47.

Pedro Jimenez was the leading scorer for the Badgers with 13 points. Drew Jolley notched 12 points, and “Diener Time” Jake Diener netted six points.

That wraps up the regular season for Prescott. They wind up with an overall record of 12–13. They are also 8–4 in Grand Canyon Region play. At number 21 in the power point rankings for the 4A Conference, the Badgers are a shoe-in for the postseason. They will start in the state play-in round, which takes place February 18th.
