CVHS Baseball Clips Odyssey Institute on Productive Out

A run in the third inning, a run in the fourth inning, and another run in the fifth inning gave the Chino Valley baseball team a 3-0 advantage over Odyssey Institute in Monday’s contest. But the Minotaurs staged a comeback in the late innings to tie the score three-all. Just when it looked like the game would have to go into extra innings, Jacob Boivin came to the plate. Did he get a walk-off base hit? No. He hit into a fielder’s choice, which still brought home the game-winning run for the Cougars, final score 4-3.

Destry Owings and Caden Todd both had R-B-Is for Chino. Todd also swiped two bases. Boivin also got the win in relief. He took over on the mound in the seventh inning for Luke Olson, who fanned ten before his exit.

Chino Valley is 10-5 on the season. They return to action Thursday when they travel to Tonopah Valley.
