Their performances over the course of the winter sports season earned these five local athletes huge honors. Bella Abt and Addie Prisciandaro of the Prescott girls basketball team were both named to the All 4A Conference first team. In addition, “Addie-cadabra” was named the conference offensive player of the year. She eclipsed 2,000 points in her career, and was also named the Grand Canyon Region offensive player of the year. Abt became the first Lady Badger to make the 1,000/1,000 club in her career, and was also the region overall player of the year.
Moving to the pitch, Angel Sanchez of the Prescott boys soccer team made the All 4A Conference first team. Though he missed half the season due to the transfer rule, as soon as he suited up, he became a goal-scoring machine, and was named the region offensive player of the year. For Bradshaw Mountain, Titus Womble and Alan Flores were All-Conference second team selections. Womble was a defensive stalwart, while Flores was one of the Bears’ top goal scorers.
