Yavapai County Drought Worsens

The drought is intensifying in Yavapai County. According to the U.S. Drought Monitor, nearly all of Yavapai is in moderate drought. A small portion of southern Yavapai County is in severe drought.

As for the rest of Arizona, more than half the state is in moderate drought. Large portions of eastern and southern Arizona are in severe drought.

The current drought conditions have resulted in high fire danger in the Prescott National Forest. Everyone is urged to be careful with anything that can produce a flame or a spark in order to prevent a wildfire from breaking out.
