There was plenty of post-season action involving our local high school teams, and here’s how it all panned out.
In baseball, in the 4A conference state play-in round, Bradshaw Mountain got doubled-up by Ironwood Ridge 10-5. Sammy Villafana drove in two runs in his final game in a Bear uniform. Another senior, Donovan Bayard, scored two runs. In the 3A conference state play-in round, Chino Valley came up short to Thatcher 7-5. Seniors Jacob Bovin, Ryan Lamotte, and Cutter McCoy each had an RBI.
Softball, in the 4A conference state play-in round, Prescott lost to Walden Grove 4-1. Bradshaw Mountain was subdued by Thunderbird 7-5.
Finally, in the 4A conference team state tournament for boys tennis, Prescott lost to Eastmark 5-1.
In addition, the Prescott boys volleyball team concluded the regular season with a 3-1 triumph over Paradise Honors. Seth Peterson recorded eleven kills, and Eli Buettner notched eight kills.
