The Prescott boys volleyball team claimed two big awards. Arwinn Heartisan was named the Black Canyon Region Offensive Player of the Year. He recorded 529 assists and 34 aces. The overall Region Player of the Year was Eli Buettner. He posted 191 kills, 100 digs, 44 blocks, and 18 aces. The two also made the all-region first team, along with another Badger, Seth Peterson.
Second team selections were Prescott’s Jack Golleher, Trace Thein, and Oskar Mizell, and Bradshaw Mountain’s Colin Bowser and Alan Sotelo Delgado. Honorable mentions went to Prescott’s Payson Jacobson and Garrett Tebbetts, and Bradshaw Mountain’s Kimball Morris and Jason Nguyen.
The Badgers are in action tonight. They travel to Goodyear to face Estrella Foothills in the Elite Eight of the 4A Conference state tournament.
