Some former Yavapai College athletes will have new homes for the 2026-2027 season.
Basketball’s Raijon Dispensa is off to Wilmington University, an NCAA Division II school in Delaware. Last season for the Roughriders, Dispensa averaged four points per game, grabbed 73 rebounds, and dished out 19 assists. Wilmington is coming off a 10-18 season.
Another ex-Roughrider basketball player, Ryan Vischer, signed with Roosevelt University. That’s an NCAA Division II school in Chicago. Vischer averaged 2.2 points per game for YC, with 75 rebounds and 18 blocks.
Onto the volleyball court, Destiny Matthews won’t be going far to continue her career. She signed with Embry-Riddle. In 2025 for the Lady Riders, Matthews posted 94 kills, 67 blocks, and 40 digs.
