Clarkdale Brush Fire

Firefighters from multiple agencies responded to a pair of brush fires near Clarkdale Tuesday morning.

At about 8:19 a.m., Verde Valley fire district crews were dispatched to investigate reports of smoke in the area of North Broadway Street. Upon arrival, firefighters observed two separate smoke columns north of cement plant road and located two brush fires burning along the railroad tracks.

Additional resources were requested from the cottonwood fire department and the U.S. Forest Service. Officials say the quick response and coordinated efforts of all agencies involved helped crews contain and extinguish the fires before they could spread further.

The combined burn area was limited to approximately one-and-a-half acres, and no injuries were reported.

Fire officials are also reminding residents that Yavapai County remains under stage one fire restrictions. With extremely dry conditions and recent high winds across the region, the risk of wildfire remains elevated.

Residents are urged to use caution with outdoor activities and follow all current fire restriction regulations.
